BYU Cougarettes winning hip hop dance routine - this time for sure Bullwinkle!
This is the real winning routine. Thanks to "Anonymous" (see comments) and Maxfield (is this Jodi Maxfield who is the team's artistic director?) for getting this straightened out. This was the first year the BYU Cougarettes competed in hip hop and were totally not expected to win. An article on KSL.com says Todd Sharp, the coach of the favored Louisville team, (to his credit) acknowledged that the Cougarettes "were better than us".
Here is a quote from a Deseret News article:
"I just don't think anyone expected the Mormon girls from Utah to bring it like they did," said Cougarettes Dance Captain Brynlee Fielding. "They just see us as technical dancers, but we knew we could do more."

Amazing Dance Wins Cougarettes National Title - for Hip Hop!
This is an amazing dance video. This the first year the Brigham Young University Cougarettes competed for the National Hip Hop Championship and they won! No one expected it. They have a reputation in jazz dance and precision dance (drill team stuff). But hip hop?
The crowd went crazy!
NOTE: Heads up from Maxfield (see comment): Apparently this wasn't the winning routine. It was a preliminary routine that was included in their press announcement. I really want to see the winning routine...
